Dr. Houser is an experienced veterinarian who obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota in 2010. She then did a post-graduate internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in North Carolina.

Dr. Houser worked in emergency medicine for a few years, then made the move to South Texas, where she worked in general practice in various locations, including Galveston. She then served as the medical director of a VCA hospital for three years before finding her new home at Crossroads Pet Hospital in 2018.

“My husband and I have plenty of family in Texas, and we wanted to be close to them,” Dr. Houser said. “What I didn’t know is that I’d find a second family in the staff at Crossroads Pet Hospital!”

When Dr. Houser isn’t doing what she loves best – saving pet lives – you’ll still find her working with her hands – crafting, knitting, and sewing. “I also love to sing, and I love anything to do with being outdoors!”

“I’ve wanted to be a vet practically my whole life, since I was five years old,” said Dr. Houser. “There really is nothing I love more than saving the lives of animals.” Dr. Houser particularly enjoys pet dentistry. “Pets can’t tell you when they have a toothache or tooth sensitivity,” she said. “I love having the ability to give pets a pain-free mouth – to find what may be ailing them and make it better.”

Dr. Houser lives with her husband and their three pets: a three-legged Labrador retriever/golden retriever mix, a Japanese Chin, and a cat. If you see her in our hospital, please give her a warm welcome!
